Yoctopuce Yocto - Meteo
The Yocto - Meteo USB sensor is compatible with Valarm Tools Cloud.
The circuit board has been designed so that the sensor part can be moved away from the USB connector and host electronics: simply split the board into two parts and solder a 4-wire cable on the designated pads. We've separated the two parts by as much as 15ft via cat5 (ethernet) cable (using only 4 of the 8 conductors in cat5). Yoctopuce has more information on their site (see specs link below).
There's also a Mounting Bracket for screwing this module down to an enclosure panel.
You can learn more about how to use this sensor in the Valarm blog entry on Remote Micro-climate Monitoring.
See our enclosures and sensor pagodas that can be used to protect this sensor in the outdoors. Also note that this sensor is used in remote environmental monitoring / telemetry boxes / kits.
We've got a live demo sensor data feed from one of these meteo sensors connected to a Yocto Wireless Sensor hub in Los Angeles, California. It runs on its own dedicated solar power like the Valarm units used by the petroleum / oil & gas industry, agriculture, and governments to monitor:
