New sensor for Valarm Pro mobile app: 4-20mA !

New sensor supported and now compatible with the Valarm Pro mobile app: Yoctopuce's 4-20mA sensor!
The Valarm compatible Yocto-4-20mA-Rx sensor allows you to monitor and record the status of up to 2 4-20mA sensors. The 4-20 mA signaling standard is a broadly adopted industry standard for reliably sending sensor data along great distances over inexpensive wiring (thousands of meters).
You can use this flexible 2-channel device for an incredibly broad array of applications like:
- Soil Moisture
- Leaf Wetness
- Precision Temperature
- Pressure (Fluid / Gas)
- Linear & Rotary Position Sensors
- AC Current sensors
- Chemicals and Gases, e.g., H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) & NH3 (Ammonia)
These are just a few ideas that come to mind when you realize that any sensor implementing a 4-20mA interface is now connectable via USB.
You can find sensors for all kinds of physical measures using the standard 4-20mA interface. Transmitting the measure using a 4-20mA current loop makes it possible to get a very precise reading (up to 0.01%), and works even when the sensor is far away from the Yoctopuce module.
The Yocto-4-20mA-Rx support 2-wire sensors (powered from the current loop) as well as 3-wire sensors (sensors that require an additional power supply with shared ground) and 4-wire sensors (with an isolated power supply). It can even provide up to 80mA to power 3-wires sensors that do not require too much power. The supply voltage is regulated 23V, isolated from the USB bus but common to both inputs.
Next up: 0-10 V sensor support for another industry standard for sending sensor data between 0-10V!
